From the Huntley Fire Protection District:

Lake in the Hills Sunset Park AED Ribbon Cutting

The Huntley Fire Protection District will join the Village of Lake in the Hills Parks and Recreation Department for a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the installation of a new publicly accessible Automated External Defibrillator (AED) at Sunset Park.

The event will take place on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at 5200 Miller Road in Lake in the Hills.

The new “Save Station” provides a 24-hour accessible AED for immediate use during cardiac emergencies and is centrally located near the park’s sports fields and recreational facilities.

Newly installed AED at the Bark Park, located at 9027 Haligus Road, in Lake in the Hills.

The unit was generously donated by Andrew’s Assist, a Huntley based nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding AED access within the community and obtained through grant funding.

A second AED was recently installed across Haligus Road at the Bark Park, made possible through grant funding provided by S.C.A.R.F. (Sudden Cardiac Arrest Research Foundation). Together, these efforts expand lifesaving accessibility in two of the Village’s most visited recreational areas.

Representatives from Andrew’s Assist, the Village of Lake in the Hills, and the Huntley Fire Protection District will attend the ceremony to highlight the importance of early defibrillation and community readiness during cardiac emergencies.

The Huntley Fire Protection District is also proud to provide CPR training to Village of Lake in the Hills employees, including those from Public Works, Parks and Recreation, and the Police Department.

This ongoing partnership supports a community wide commitment to preparedness and lifesaving education.

Community members interested in learning CPR or how to use an AED are encouraged to register for an upcoming class by visiting www.huntleyfpd.org.
