Connie Cain used her CPA skills to look at what happened in Kane County’s April Fool’s Day Elections:
“I’ve attached a spreadsheet with the election results. It has two tabs.
“The first tab is Permanent vote-by-mail enrollment broken down by party.
“The Democrats have 18,256, the Republicans have 8,818, and the Nonpartisans have 9,875.
“These ballots had a 50% return rate for both parties, but the nonpartisan return rate was slightly lower.
My argument is that Republicans lost the election on 3/7/25, the day Permanent vote-by-mail ballots were mailed out.
“Kane County had an overall turnout rate of 22.69%, but permanent vote-by-mail ballots have a return rate that is twice as high.
On 3/7/25, the Republicans were already about 4,500 votes behind the Democrats and had less than 30 days to catch up.
“The task is impossible, and the Democrats win every time.”
