From State Senator Don DeWitte:
Public Hearing on Proposed Tollway Hikes Scheduled in Huntley
The Illinois Tollway is holding a series of public hearings across the transit region to collect public input on a proposed increase in toll rates to pay for a new capital program.
A hearing in Huntley has been scheduled for TOMORROW, Tuesday, July 14, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the Huntley Park District Recreation Center, 12015 Mill Street in Huntley.
The new capital program is a 15-year, $26.5 billion plan to rebuild, improve and modernize the tollway system.
The Tollway is proposing a toll rate increase of about 45 cents per toll for passenger vehicles and 30 percent for commercial vehicles.
In addition, the Tollway will adjust rates in accordance with the Consumer Price Index every other year to provide cost predictability for customers.
