President Marty Mohr and Treasurer Donnie Bottcher secure eighth consecutive terms, ensuring leadership continuity amid exciting park upgrades
MARENGO, IL — The Marengo Park District Board of Commissioners officially held its annual election of officers during its meeting last night, May 28, 2026. The election solidifies a highly experienced leadership team dedicated to guiding the district through an upcoming year focused on community growth and infrastructure improvements.
The Board demonstrated strong confidence in its current leadership by re-electing its executive officers to consecutive terms:
- Board President: Marty Mohr was elected to serve as President for his 8th consecutive term.
- Vice President: Bryan Newbold was elected to his 3rd consecutive term as Vice President.
- Treasurer: Donnie Bottcher was elected to his 8th consecutive term as Treasurer.
Rounding out the five-member Board of Commissioners are Steve Polizzi and Paul Williamson, both of whom continue their vital service to the Marengo community.
Additionally, Jennifer Johnson, who serves the district as a non-board member, was re-appointed to her 2nd year as Board Secretary.

With a dedicated board and major initiatives on the horizon, we are in an excellent position to enhance our recreational spaces and better serve Marengo residents.”
This leadership continuity comes at a milestone moment for the district.
The election follows the recent approval by the McHenry County Board of a $212,171.00 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) allocation for the district’s upcoming Public Footpath Project.
The newly solidified board will be responsible for overseeing this project, which will construct safe, accessible walking paths from Park Drive directly into the park.
