From 14th district State Central Committeeperson Beth Findley Smith:

The future leadership of the Illinois Republican Party will be decided Monday, May 18 in Springfield, when the Illinois Republican State Central Committee (SCC) votes for the next ILGOP Chair in a closed meeting.

Each SCC member casts a weighted vote based on Republican performance in their congressional district, so every district has a voice in the process. (See the spreadsheet I made below.)

The four announced candidates for Chair are:

• Kathy Salvi (incumbent)

• Bob Grogan

• Scott Gryder

• Lawrence Stowe

If you have thoughts about the direction of the Illinois Republican Party, now is the time to contact your SCC member and make your voice heard. If you’re in my district, give me a call at 815-508-3717 or message me here.

SCC contact information can be found here: https://illinois.gop/party-officials

Leadership matters. Fundraising matters. Candidate recruitment matters. Grassroots engagement matters. This vote will help shape the future of the Illinois GOP heading into the 2026 election and beyond.

Chair is a 4-year term.
