Cornish Park Closed as Village Monitors Fox River Conditions
Village monitoring rising river levels; precautionary measures underway
ALGONQUIN, IL – The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Warning for the Fox River in Algonquin.
The river is currently at 10.3 feet and is forecasted to crest at approximately 11.3 feet on Tuesday, April 21, which may result in moderate flooding within the floodplain.

The Village is actively monitoring conditions and taking precautionary measures in response to rising river levels. Cornish Park is closed and will remain closed until conditions improve.
Water is present in some low-lying areas, and warning signage will be placed as needed.


Select streets may close if conditions warrant.
The Village is prepared for potential additional impacts, including sandbagging operations if necessary.
There is no immediate need for residents to evacuate; however, those in flood-prone areas are encouraged to stay alert and be prepared to take appropriate action if conditions change.
Any sandbagging operations will be shared with the community if needed.
