In an article on documentary films made by Chicagoans, the Chicago Sun-Times includes “The Last Republican.”
[This] documentary follows former Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger as he battles to hold former President Donald Trump accountable for the Jan. 6, 2023, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
That film had an Oscar-qualifying run in Los Angeles, with accompanying special screenings in New York, San Francisco and L.A., but it has not yet had a wider theatrical release or landed on a streaming platform.
Kinzinger is the man who, beat a real Republican, Don Manzullo.
The film was directed by Steve Pink, who directed one of Kinzinger’s favorite films, 2010’s Hot Tub Time Machine.
