Crystal Lake Police Investigate Possession of Child Sex Abuse Material
On September 24, 2026, the Crystal Lake Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1600 block of Carlemont Drive.
The matter initially came to the attention of the Crystal Lake Police Department through the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, of which the Crystal Lake Police Department is a participating member, prompting an immediate investigation.
The Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit conducted the investigation, which culminated in the issuance of a search warrant for the residence of John M. Anderlik (27).
As a result of the investigation, Crystal Lake Detectives took Mr. Anderlik into custody for the following offenses:
- Two counts of Child Sex Abuse Material – Disseminates or Offers to Disseminate Visual Reproductions on Computer – victim under 18: 720 ILCS 5/11-20.1(a)(2) – Class X
- Two counts of Child Sex Abuse Material – Possess Visual Reproductions on Computer – victim under 18: 720 ILCS 5/11-20.1(a)(6) – Class 2
The Crystal Lake Police Department is continuing to investigate the actions of Mr. Anderlik.
