The filing period for municipal, school, park, library and fire protection districts started yesterday and concludes Monday afternoon.
Note in the linked article above that the city only says that the purchase of the $4,2 million HealthBridge won’t raise taxes.

Crystal Lake Mayor Haig Haleblian when he made the pitch for the Crystal Lake Park Board to buy healthBridge. He said it would cost $4.2 million and he already had a commitment of $1 million from an unnamed individual. The park district declined the opportuity.
They is nothing saying taxes won’t be raised to remodel and operate whatever it turns into.
Issuing bonds would mean they would have to be repaid…with interest.
And, the library seems ready to move.
Some readers disagree that a new library is needed.
And the cost has not been made clear.
The vote was originally set for next Tuesday, rhe day after the deadline for filing petitions for city council.
That would have insulated anyone running for re-election from challengers that could be motivated by the decision onthe HealthBridge purchase.
I’m sure my Freedom of Information is not the reason for changing the vote today.
Governments are supposed to reply in a week. That was last Thursday.
The city’s Freedom of Informaiton Officer said it would take another week.
Cincidentally, that is two days after the council votes on HealthBridge.
