Big Timber Crash
On Thursday, May 28, 2026, at 5:28 p.m., the Huntley Fire Protection District was dispatched to the area of Sandwald Road and Big Timber Road in unincorporated Kane County following multiple 911 calls reporting a two-vehicle crash with injuries.
Crews arrived to find both vehicles with significant front-end damage in the roadway just west of the intersection. Firefighters were able to access both drivers without the need for extrication.
The drivers were the sole occupants of their respective vehicles.
An adult male driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, while an adult female driver was transported to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The Kane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. Any additional questions regarding the investigation, including the cause of the crash, should be directed to their office
