From Wonder Lake’s Bob Anderson:

Double-Dipping

Dear every unrespected and over taxed every day Illinois citizen, take notice, you are being hosed, or have been, by many elected officials that you have voted into office.  All eyes should be focused on the pathetic, disgraceful and unethical conduct of many elected officials who are, or who in the past, have held more than one elected office at the same time, getting a paycheck and benefits from both offices, taxpayer-funded “Double-Dipping”.

Qualifiers for “Double-Dipping’ can be a state senator or representative, county board members, township supervisors, township assessors and city mayors.

Illinois has 118 state representatives and 59 senators, why are they silent? How can they not see that this is not in the best interests of citizens? What’s in it for them? Where is the legislation to end this outrage? About 7,000 bills are filed each year, how much longer can this be overlooked?

For some, like Senator Napoleon Harris II, who is a recent “Double-Dipper” it’s all about big money and extreme conflicts of interests; Senator Harris was elected the Thornton Township Supervisor on May 19, 2025. Senator Harris’s state paycheck is $89,250 and his Supervisor paycheck is $202,950, an astounding total of $292,200! This does not include pension, health and other benefits. Both of Harris’ offices are part time positions.

Governor JB Pritzker, Senate President Don Harmon, Speaker Chris Welch and members of the General Assembly, we the citizens of Illinois call on you to take action to end the abuse of holding multiple elected offices in Illinois.
