Darren Bailey vs. Aaron Del Mar Feud?

Tension builds as their mutual ally Tom DeVore melts down

Patrick Pfingsten of The Illinoize caught something on Darren Bailey’s campaign website that looked like drama between Darren Bailey and his running mate, Aaron Del Mar.

Pfingsten grabbed this screenshot, and it has since been removed from the website, but the damage has been done.

It says there was supposed to be a press conference in Chicago but it did not materialize.

There is a note that says, “I’ve been pushing Aaron to see if we could do a rally up north but he can’t find anyone.”

It is unclear if the Bailey campaign wanted a press conference or a rally, and if they wanted to do an event in Chicago or simply “up north.”

Regardless, this is an odd thing to put on a campaign website.

It puts blame on Aaron Del Mar for not being able to find anyone to host the event.

Usually if an event can not happen, it just does not get listed on the site.

This one is listed but there is a note that it is not happening, and it names Aaron Del Mar as the person who “can’t find anyone” to host the event.

When is a specific person on a campaign ever blamed right on the campaign’s website for being unable to organize an event?

Either the people running Bailey’s campaign are bad at running campaigns or this is an indication that there is tension between Del Mar and Bailey or someone close to Bailey that has access to edit the website.

Maybe both.

For this to happen just days before an election where Bailey and Del Mar are expected to get crushed by JB Pritzker likely means that frustration is boiling over and the finger pointing is already happening.

Just weeks before Del Mar agreed to be Bailey’s running mate, he said on a podcast based in Lake Forest, Illinois that Darren Bailey is a horrible candidate.

Some Republicans allege Del Mar was never interested in winning this election but rather parasitically attached himself to Bailey’s campaign to build his own name ID up for 2030.

There is already an effort underway to do a coup of the Illinois Republican Party by blaming its chairman Bob Grogan and the so-called establishment for the disastrous upcoming eyoutube.com/watch?t=3091&v=mUYtrTzMaUA&feature=youtu.belection results.

Earlier this year, Del Mar preferred Kathy Salvi for chairman of the state party instead of Bob Grogan, as did southern Illinois attorney and egg roll salesman Tom DeVore who lost his State Central Committeeperson race.

Grogan is a close ally of Ted Dabrowski who ran against the Bailey-Del Mar ticket.

The main person pushing the narrative that Grogan and the establishment are to blame for the upcoming election loss is Tom DeVore who recently blamed Grogan for Republicans not having more people voting by mail despite the fact that many voters are uncomfortable with voting by mail.

(DeVore has also blamed McHenry County Republican Chairman for McHenry County eventually flipping Democratic even though it has been trending that way for a decade; many candidates and elected officials such as Eric Hendrics, county treasurer Donna Kurtz, county board candidate Dan Hickey, county board candidate Eric Reining, county board candidate Jeff Schwartz, and others pushed back on DeVore for trashing Hendricks.)

When one Facebook commenter politely disagreed with DeVore and said Republicans should not promote vote by mail, DeVore responded not by explaining why the interlocutor was incorrect but by calling him a “dumb dumb” and swearing at him.

DeVore had a scandal years ago during his unsuccessful run for school board when he referred to special needs children as “window lickers.”

Sources say that DeVore is the glue that holds Bailey and Del Mar together, but as activists sour on DeVore for his anti-social behavior, and as Bailey and Del Mar drift apart, both Bailey and Del Mar may rethink having DeVore in their inner-circles.
