From the Coronor:
McHenry County Coroner, Dr. Michael Rein, announced that his office was contacted on April 20, 2026, around 2:40pm by the Lake In The Hills PD to investigate the death of Jack Murdock Sr., age 76 of Lake In The Hills.
Mr. Murdock Sr. was involved in a fire at his place of residence and was pronounced deceased at the scene. An autopsy was performed on April 21, 2026.
Toxicology is currently pending and no preliminary findings are available at this time.
The Coroner’s Office is continuing to work collaboratively with Lake In The Hills PD, Algonquin/Lake In The Hills Fire Department, and the State Fire Marshal during this investigation.
