Diane Harris Running for Secretary of State

JOLIET, IL — Diane Harris today announced her candidacy for Illinois Secretary of State.

Harris currently serves as a trustee for both Joliet Junior College and the Joliet Public Library, and she is a longtime small business owner.

She has also previously sought public office as a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives, the Illinois State Senate, and the Illinois House of Representatives.

As Secretary of State, Harris is committed to expanding access to DMV services across Illinois.

Her priorities include introducing kiosks and mobile centers, ensuring walk-in services are available at every office, and strengthening computer systems to better protect residents’ personal data from breaches.

“I’m running for Secretary of State to make government work better for the people of Illinois,” Harris said.

“Every resident deserves fast, fair, and secure service, and I am driven to deliver a DMV system that finally works for all of Illinois.”
