Heavy police activity near McHenry County Courthouse
On July 7 at approximately 3:58 p.m., an individual attempted to enter through the West Entrance of the McHenry County Courthouse in Woodstock with a suspected weapon.
When stopped by Court Security Officers, the individual fled, and a short foot pursuit occurred.
The individual was apprehended south of the courthouse, near N Seminary Avenue and Russel Court. The weapon was recovered a short time later.
There is no ongoing threat to the public.
We commend the swift action of our Court Security Officers and thank all who assisted.
