With Governor JB Pritzker promoting the location of electricity sucking data centers in Illinois, I continue to wonder if we shall have enough power for them, plus current customers.

Luckily, Illinois might have an appropriate site for another plant:

The Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Fish and Wildlife Area (JEPC) in Illinois was originally intended to be the site of a nuclear power plant

That’s what AI came up with.

Actually, it was originally purchased for coal burning plant.

ComEd bought the property in the 1960’s and when coal plants went out of style, sold it to the State of Illinois, which turned it into state park.

Worth serious consideration, it seems to me.
