McHenry County Coroner’s Office Investigating Death of 8-Year-Old Male
McHenry County Coroner Dr. Michael Rein announced that the McHenry County Coroner’s Office was notified by Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital at approximately 11:00 a.m. on June 6, 2026, regarding the death of an 8-year-old male.
The child was transported from Crystal Lake to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
An autopsy was performed on June 9, 2026.
Toxicology testing is currently pending, and the cause and manner of death remain under investigation.
The McHenry County Coroner’s Office continues to work collaboratively with the Crystal Lake Police Department and Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital during this investigation.
