My internet died before the discussion on the County levy.

Now about 9 o’clock the Board has dead-locked.

Here is the lasted vote to approve the so-called lookback with County Board members up for election appearing nervous.

Let’s look at the Democrats first.

While the Northwest Herald reported their party was opposed to the proposal, John Collins and Gloria Van Hof supported the lookback

Van Hof, while up for reelection, is unopposed.

Carolyn Campbell, who is up for reelection, voted,”No.”

Among Republicans up for reelection, Pam Altoff took what in the Illinois General Assembly would be characterized as a “dive.” She is absent.

Jim Kearns, also on the ballot, gave a long speech justifying voting for a budge’ increase for the first time

“I’m sorry if I pay the price at the polls,” he said.

Likewise Larry Smith, who is opposed in the primary by Marty Mohr, Marengo Park District Board President and who is calling Smith “Lookback Larry,” followed Kearns in supporting the lookback approach.
