A stand alone ad coming via email from the Northwest Herald and paid for by the McHenry County Democratic Central Committee can be seen below:
The County Board did raise the salaries of elected officials.
But the the “deficit” to which the ad refers is the result of Administrative staff trying to make things look worse then they really were.

Suffice is to say that McHenry County’s budget is balanced, that is, there is no deficit.
The County even sent out a press release to that effect:
