From the minutes of the Lake in the Hills Village Board:
McHenry County Board member Carolyn Campbell addressed the County’s budget gap and prioritization of RTA
sales tax spending. Mrs. Campbell listed the spending priorities as follows:
- Tier 1: Preservation and maintenance.
- Tier 2: Safety improvements (Lakewood Rd, Ackman Rd, and Pyott Rd corridors).
- Tier 3: Extensions and expansions (Lakewood Rd to Kane County and Ackman Rd to Rt. 47).
Due to the budget gap, funding for Lakewood Road improvements has been pushed to 2029, and planned
extensions are 5 years out.
Mrs. Campbell also noted upcoming advisory referendums regarding home rule and
local control over solar and housing laws.
