From Crystal Lake Fire/Rescue Department:
Vehicle vs. Bicycle – Intersection Ellsworth St & Sherman St in Crystal Lake
Crystal Lake Fire Rescue (CLFR) was dispatched to the noted intersection for an accident involving a vehicle and a juvenile bicyclist.
While en route, Battalion 3 requested LifeNet (medical transport helicopter) to be placed on standby.
Upon arrival, incident command was established, and CLFR crews confirmed a total of one patient.
Command requested LifeNet to a designated landing zone for a Level I transport. Patient care was transferred to the LifeNet
medical crew at the landing zone.
LifeNet transported the juvenile patient to a Level I Trauma Center, where they remain in serious, but stable condition.
Law enforcement made notification to the patient’s family.
