MARENGO, IL — July 31, 2026 — The Marengo Park District Board of Commissioners has approved an independent consulting agreement appointing Amanda Damisch as Interim Park District Director.
The appointment was approved unanimously by attending members during a Special Board Meeting on July 27, 2026 (with Commissioner Steve Polizzi absent), with her tenure officially taking effect on July 30, 2026.
Under the agreement, Damisch will serve as an independent management consultant overseeing day-to-day operations and functions of the District while reporting directly to the Board of Commissioners.
Her leadership spans all primary district operations, including administrative services, building and grounds maintenance, recreational programming, and Venue in the Park operations.
Additionally, Damisch will oversee financial reporting and budgeting, risk management, purchasing, human resources, and community outreach.
She will also lead long-term strategic initiatives, including the development of a legislative agenda and capital replacement plan, building intergovernmental alliances to secure public and private grant funding, and acting as liaison for ongoing bond management.
Damisch brings a strong background in corporate operations, real estate development, and local governance to the role.
She currently serves as Ward 1 Alderwoman for the City of Marengo and resides within the Park District boundaries.
Her professional background includes more than a decade of operational leadership at Meta and AES, giving her extensive experience in large-scale operations, fiscal management, and project execution.
