According to Politico Illinois, the primary victory of progressive LaShawn Ford for Congress in the 13th District and how well Kat Abughazaleh did in the Chicago portion of the 9th Congressional District
Kat came in second in Chicago with 31,000 votes to Daniel Biss’ 34,561.
Not relevant to Johnson, but of interest locally ,that Kat carried the McHenry County part of the district (Algonquin Township).

Also giving hope to Johnson is the large number of candidates in the mayoral race,
He only needs to get more votes than his opponents to gain a spot in the General Election.
Biss won his 15-candidate race with only 24.43% of the vote.
