Crews arrived approximately eight minutes later and located a single-vehicle crash approximately one-half mile east of Route 47 on Foster Road.

Firefighters arrived to find a heavily damaged Jeep overturned on its roof.

The adult male driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was located in the roadway near the vehicle and is believed to have been ejected during the crash.

Due to the severity of the injuries, a medical helicopter was requested to the Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital helipad.

The patient was transported by ambulance to the hospital, where care was transferred to the flight crew before being airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with critical, life-threatening injuries.
Foster Road remained closed for several hours while emergency crews operated on scene and investigators process the crash site.
The crash remains under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. Any additional questions regarding the investigation, including the cause of the crash, contributing factors, speed, seat belt use, or potential citations, should be directed to their office.
