From the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District:

Vehicle Leaves Route 14, Damages Multiple Vehicles in Parking Lot

On Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 12:34 p.m., the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District and Woodstock Police Department responded to the intersection of Route 14 and W. Lake Shore Drive following multiple 911 calls reporting a rollover crash with possible entrapment.

Responders arrived and located the crash in the parking lot of Culver’s.

A vehicle appeared to have left Route 14, became airborne, and struck a tree and light pole before entering the parking lot and coming to rest after damaging approximately six parked vehicles.

The adult female driver had exited the vehicle prior to the arrival of emergency personnel and did not require extrication.

Paramedics evaluated the driver on scene, and she declined any injuries.

Firefighters remained on scene assisting with securing the area, coordinating the removal of the damaged vehicles, and removing damaged trees that were obstructing access for tow trucks. “

When crews arrived, there was a lot going on and the scene was chaotic.

“We got lucky out here.

“Vehicles can be repaired, but it could have been a much different outcome if anyone had been in the path of that vehicle,” said Battalion Chief Scott Nieman.

The crash remains under investigation by the Woodstock Police Department. Any additional questions regarding the investigation, including cause, contributing factors, speed, seat belt use, or fault, should be directed to their office.
