From the Coroner:
McHenry County Coroner, Dr. Michael Rein, announced that his office was contacted on February 26, 2026, by Northwestern Medical Huntley to investigate the death of Dasiree Cunningham, age 21, of Rockford, Illinois.
The decedent was involved in a multi-vehicle accident on I-90 around mile post 46.
She was transported to Northwestern Medical Huntley and pronounced deceased around 5:30 am.
An autopsy was performed on Tuesday March 3, .
2026Preliminary findings show the cause of death as injuries to the brain.
The Coroner’s Office is continuing to work collaboratively with the Illinois State Police, Huntley Fire
Department and Northwestern Medical Huntley during this investigation.
