Structure Fire – 370 Prairie Street
Crystal Lake, IL – The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department was dispatched to a multi-unit commercial building for a smoke investigation at 6:11 am.
Upon arrival on scene, fire crews noted heavy smoke showing.
Battalion 3 established command and upgraded for a working fire response.
Fire crews quickly located and extinguished the fire, reporting it under control at 6:53 AM.
Fire damage was isolated to a single commercial unit.
Three adjacent commercial units did have minor to moderate smoke damage.
No damage was noted to the remaining commercial units.
Estimated loss to the property is $30,000.
No firefighter and/or civilian injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Area fire departments including Algonquin LITH FPD, Cary FPD, Huntley FPD, McHenry Township FPD, Woodstock Fire Rescue District and Carpentersville Fire Department responded auto-aid to provide
assistance.
