From the campaign of Kane County Treasurer Chris Lauzen:
One Hundred and Seven (107) Volunteers Help Kane County Treasurer Chris Lauzen Submit 1530 Signatres for County Treasurer
Aurora, IL (October 27, 2025) Because of the volunteer efforts of one hundred and seven (107) people, the Lauzen for Kane County Treasurer campaign has submitted 1530 petition signatures to permit Chris Lauzen to be placed on the 2026 ballot for countywide officer. The required minimum was 553.
The voters who signed Lauzen’s petitions live in every township and municipality in Kane County. This was a local grassroot effort.
“I am delighted and deeply grateful for the good work and solid support that this collective effort demonstrates”, said Treasurer Chris Lauzen. He continued, “My promises made to you when elected Treasurer have been kept and expectations exceeded:
- $20,000,000 in annual County interest income earned, rather than $2M.
- Sympathetic collection of $1.6 Billion, without incident, in annual property taxes.
- $600,000+ saved for taxpayers by replacing operating bank after 22 years.
- Accurate information provided to everyone from county audited financial statements.
This is the first step of an exciting journey to continue the positive service and outstanding financial results generated by the Treasurer’s Office.”
Lauzen earned his BA in Accounting and English from Duke University, MBA from Harvard Business School, and CPA (certified public accountant) certificate through testing sponsored by the University of Illinois.
After starting and building a successful accounting practice with his wife Sarah, serving more than 200 small business owners in the Fox Valley, Lauzen was elected and served in the Illinois State Senate for twenty (20) years, then elected and served for eight (8) years as the Kane County Board Chairman and chief administrator, and is now the current Kane County Treasurer.
