GOP State Senate Contest Down to Four Contenders
Yesterday, Elburn Village Trustee Chris Hansen announced he was suspending his campaign for state senator in the 33rd Legislative District..
This is the state senate seat held by retiring state Senator Don DeWitte (R, St. Charles).
With Hansen’s departure, the remaining known candidates circulating petitions, in alphabetical order are:
- Jessica Breugelmans of Geneva
- Cody Holt of Elgin
- Tom McIntosh of St. Charles (DuPage County)
- Danielle Penman of St. Charles (Kane County)
If there are any other Republican candidates circulating petitions, I’m unaware of who they are. If the candidates come from these four names, and without a McHenry County candidate, the McHenry County voters in the 33rd District will likely decide the outcome
