From State Rep. Steve Reick:

State Representative Steve Reick Announces 2026 Re-Election Bid

Woodstock, IL – Speaking from his booth at the McHenry County Fair, State Representative Steve Reick announced today that he will be running for reelection in November of 2026.

“Since 2016, the people of the 63 rd District here in McHenry County have honored me with their trust and their votes, and I’ve tried to justify that trust by speaking up for the issues that matter most to them.” Reick said.

“I’ve led the fight to lower property taxes by reining in unfunded mandates and restoring proper funding to our local communities while being a strong voice in the effort to fix our broken public pension system.

The light I’ve cast upon DCFS has resulted in progress being made to keep our kids safe from abuse and neglect, while I’ve resisted efforts to deny parents of their right and obligation to give the best education they can to their children in a manner of their choosing.

“And I’ve never forgotten the people who pay the bill.”

Representative Reick serves as the minority spokesman on the Personnel and Pensions Committee and the Adoption and Child Welfare Committee, while also serving on the Revenue and Finance, Judiciary (Civil) and Cities and Villages Committees.

He is also a member of the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules.

“I’m running for reelection because the job isn’t done.” Reick continued.

“The majority party that runs this state doesn’t need another rubber stamp in Springfield.

“What’s needed is a voice who’ll speak up for those who believe in the middle-class values that built this state and who will bring back a government that provides help when it’s needed and stays out of the way when it’s not.

“I want to continue to be a voice.”
