From a Friend of McHenry County Blog:
Protest with ties to radical groups coming to McHenry County this weekend
A number of protests called “No Kings” will be held across the country on June 14 (which is Flag Day and Trump’s birthday).
One in McHenry County is officially being promoted by the McHenry County Democratic Party. Other groups are involved too…
Mobilize.us lists the protest in the city of McHenry at the intersection of Rt 31 and McCullom Lake Rd.
It is being promoted by Progressive Democrats of America. Like I said, there are several organizations involved.
Unfortunately, the time of the event is 11 am – 1 pm which is peak lunch rush hours. Readers should beware that it might get crowded over there at that time. There’s already quite a bit of traffic in that area. Plus, the protesters could be a nuisance. Imagine going to Olive Garden, if it had not shut down, and there’s a bunch of people down the street yelling about fascist Trump.
Some people would have just wanted to eat bread sticks in peace, but it might not have been possible on Saturday thanks to Democrats and communists.
On Facebook, District 8 Democrats created an event page.
They claim the event is being hosted by Indivisible McHenry County. The parent organization Indivisible is behind the No Kings protests across the country.
If I recall, Indivisible started off as a pro-Bernie group. Now it is a more broad-based progressive group.
No Kings has a website called nokings.org where you can find a list and map of protests scheduled for Saturday, June 14. There are several in Illinois.
To the credit of the parties promoting the McHenry event specifically, they are encouraging it to be peaceful and say that there will be “designated protest marshals who will be keeping an eye on things.”
Actually, the same is true if you go to the No Kings website. Indivisible says the protests should be nonviolent. That’s a relief because a few nights ago protesters were throwing rocks at cops, shooting fireworks at horses, and burning cars. Maybe they are doing it right now (I closed the livestream to concentrate on typing this).
Below is a long description of the event in McHenry.
At least there is lip service to respecting the American flag in that description. The same can’t be said for all parties involved.
One organization promoting this event that is even further to the left of Progressive Democrats of America and Indivisible is Bob Avakian’s Revolutionary Communist Party, USA otherwise known as RevCom.
If you have ever seen well-made signs at a protest that say “Refuse Fascism” or “Trump Pence Out” or “The Trumpe Pence Regime Must Go” know that they probably came from RevCom. Although many people, including other communist groups, consider Avakian to be a silly cult leader, I believe people do not give Avakian and RevCom enough credit.
RevCom has been around for 50 years and it has played a huge role in the larger anti-Trump protests that you have seen (along with the Party for Socialism and Liberation or PSL).
Yes, PSL is promoting this No Kings stuff as well, and PSL is not as alien to McHenry County as RevCom. In 2020, a couple hundred people in McHenry County cast ballots for the PSL ticket of Gloria La Riva and Leonard Peltier. Maybe one of your neighbors did.
If the name Leonard Peltier is familiar, it’s because he was in prison for getting into a gun fight with federal agents that left two of them dead. Joe Biden released Peltier from prison as one of his final acts in office. It turns out left-wingers don’t mind voting for convicted felons — including those convicted of murder.
Hey @Jason Aldean We’re gonna stomp on the flag AND light it up!Rafael Kadaris and the Revcoms in Chicago call out Jason Aldeanwww.youtube.com |
Ideologically, RevCom is usually considered more left-wing than PSL although they haven’t had quite as bad of headlines lately.
Those PSL folks seem to be really into committing double homicide.
If you’re curious about what kind of communist Avakian is, for your information, he is a Maoist.
Those are the guys who got mad at the USSR for “going soft” after Stalin died.
His followers in RevCom are just as radical — although many do not sport the funny hats.
A couple years ago, RevCom showed up in Tinley Park to a Jason Aldean concert to burn an American flag and stomp on it. When you are a revolutionary communist, it is not enough to burn or stomp the flag. You have to do both.
At the time, Aldean had a hit song called “Try That In A Small Town” which was critical of radical left-wing groups such as antifa and BLM who were regularly burning the flag.
RevCom showed up, they stomped and burned the flag, and the people attending the Aldean concert who sing along to “Try That In A Small Town” did nothing.
Then members of RevCom went on the internet and made fun of right-wingers in general for being tough-talking cowards. (It should be noted that police were present and protecting RevCom, which is super ironic in many ways.)
Supposedly there are over 1,800 No Kings protests planned for June 14 but the one in the city of McHenry was the only one I saw listed in McHenry County.
Hopefully neither PSL or RevCom shows up, but you never know with these events. Both groups have a large presence in Chicago.
Anyway, these are the fellow travelers with the McHenry County Democratic Party: cop killers, flag burners, terrorists, and Maoists.
And I suspect McHenry County Democrats won’t be denouncing any socialist or communist organizations.
I would love to be wrong.
