National Organized Retail Crime (ORC) Blitz Conducted in Woodstock

On Thursday, May 29th and Friday, May 30th 2025, the Woodstock Police Department, along with the Spring Grove Police Department, participated in the National Organized Retail Crime (ORC) Blitz.

This was a nationwide initiative with the goal of disrupting and dismantling local ORC networks by coordinating focused enforcement operations across the country.

During the event, six individuals were arrested (4 males, 2 females) with a total of fourteen criminal charges including:

  • Five (5) Felonies including one Theft (Over $500),
  • one Retail Theft (with prior convictions),
  • one Burglary, and
  • two Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Seven (7) Misdemeanors including four Retail Theft, two Possession of Drug Paraphernalia,
    and one Possessing a Theft Detection Device Remover.
  • Two (2) traffic citations were also issued for operating vehicle with suspended registration and
    no insurance

This event saw the collaboration of law enforcement and multiple local retail establishments, including:

  • Jewel-Osco,
  • Walgreens,
  • Farm & Fleet,
  • Walmart,
  • Menards, and
  • Kohl’s,

who provided essential support in the form of resources and community partnership.
