From the McHenry County Sheriff:

Aggravated Battery in Unincorporated Union

A man was left seriously injured after an altercation near Union on Wednesday, June 4.

At approximately 6:53 p.m., the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched for an injured person near the intersection of Dunham Road & E Coral Road in unincorporated Union.

Marengo Police Department, Harvard Police Department, and Marengo Fire & Rescue District also responded.

Upon arrival, responding deputies learned that a physical altercation occurred between two individuals.

During this altercation, a male subject was struck with a blunt object and received serious injuries.

The victim was transported to the hospital and remains in stable condition.

The suspect was arrested and charged.  

Arrested: Wayne Christiansen, Age 78, homeles

Charges:

  • Aggravated Battery Great Bodily Harm (Class 3 Felony)
  • Aggravated Battery /Deadly Weapon (Class 3 Felony)  
  • Aggravated Battery Upon a Public Way (Class 3 Felony)                                                   

Next Court Date: June 5, 2025
