Take a look at what the Springfield reporter for the Chicago Tribune says today about the motive for putting control of all of Chicagoland’s mass transit under one board:

He is flat out wrong that “customer dissatisfaction” is the reason for the push for consolidating the way trans and buses are governed.

Customers just want to get from point A to point B.

Passengers don’t car about anything other than that.

The goal since 1974 has been for Chicago to get control of all the funding and how it is spent.
