The Lake in the Hills Police Department announces Distracted Driving enforcement results
Lake in the Hills, IL – The Lake in the Hills Police Department announced it issued sixty-one (61) citations for handsfree law violations during April’s Distracted Driving Awareness Month enforcement campaign.
During the campaign a total of 132 citations were issued, including two arrests:
- 61: Operating Motor Vehicle While Using Electronic Communication Device
- 39: Speeding
- 8: Expired Registration
- 5: Registration Suspended for Mandatory Insurance Violation
- 2: Failure to Signal
- 11: Failure to Wear Seat Belt
- 4: Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle
- 2: Arrests – No Valid Driver’s License-Expired Greater Than 1 Year
- 1 Warrant: Failure to Appear for Traffic Offenses
The Lake in the Hills Police Department joined forces with the Illinois State Police, local law enforcement
and highway safety partners for this enforcement effort.
The Illinois distracted driving campaign is funded with federal traffic safety funds administered by the
Illinois Department of Transportation.
