DeVore planning mailer against McCombie

It would be unfair to mention that Tom DeVore’s PAC titled “Tom DeVore’s RINO Removal” had a weak first quarter and then ignore progress it has made.
There has been progress.
A few days ago, DeVore began promoting his PAC on Facebook, telling people to donate to it.
He posted a link that used the Anedot system and several people donated.
By May 4, he told his followers that he had reached his goal of $5,000.
He says he is going to do a mailer in House Minority Leader Tony McCombie’s district.
It will be a mailer that is critical of Tony McCombie.
His goal is to replace her in next year’s primary.
He has not mentioned any specific person who wants to run against her in the primary but it is early.
One common objection is that the money McCombie uses to defend herself in the primary is money that can’t be given to other Republicans; and since it’s her seat, she would likely be willing to spend whatever it takes to be reelected.
Whether DeVore’s strategy is wise is questionable, but since it involves attacking the #1 Republican in the Illinois House in her own district it is a significant development.
