From the McHenry Township Fire Protection District:

On Sunday, March 9 th , at approximately 9:50 p.m., the McHenry Township Fire Protection District was dispatched to the 1000 block of Carrick Lane in the city of McHenry for a report of a structure fire.

MTFPD arrived in four minutes to find smoke coming from the attached garage of a two-story townhome

Upon our arrival, the homeowner was found putting water on the small fire with a garden hose.

MTFPD fully extinguished the fire and removed the smoke from the garage. The fire was contained to the garage and did not spread to the home’s interior.

A damage estimate is not available.

There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.

The residence is still habitable.

MTFPD fire investigators are currently investigating the fire
