The Illinois State Board of Elections issues fines for late campaign finance reporting.

This year’s list includes four from McHenry County:

  • Former State’s Attorney Patrick Kenneally, a Republilcan
  • Dominique Miller, a Democrat who ran for County Board
  • Current County Board member Terri Greeno, a Republican
  • Mike Lehman, who ran unsuccessfully for the non-partisan office of McHenry Alderman

These folks cannot be on the ballot again until the fine is paid, according to this state law:

The election authority shall not place upon the ballot the name of any candidate appearing on this list for any office in any election while the penalty is unpaid, unless the candidate has requested a hearing and the Board has not disposed of the matter by the date of certification.
