The Member of Congress from Southwestern Florida (the part f the state not negatively affected by the Polar Vortex) is Bryon Donalds.
Donalds beat out better known locals by knocking on doors starting at least the summer before the election and huge independent expenditures by a conservative PAC called the Club for Growth.
When Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was running for President, Daniels backed Donald Trump.
DeSantis cannot run for a third term in 2026.
Donalds is now a possible replacement for Florida U.S. Senator Marc Rubio when he becomes Secretary of State, but such a decision will be made exclusively by DeSantis.
Florida Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna has just promoted former Illinois congressional candidate Catalina Lauf to replace Donalds in Congress.
