From the Coroner:
McHenry County Coroner, Dr. Michael Rein, announced that his office was contacted on December 27, 2024, by the McHenry County Sheriff’s to investigate the death of Joseph M. Depner, age 49 of Wonder Lake, IL.
Mr. Depner was involved in a 2-car accident at around the intersection of Barnard Mill Rd. and Summit Dr. in Wonder Lake and pronounced deceased at the scene.
An autopsy was performed on December 30, 2024. Preliminary results show blunt force injuries as the cause of death. Toxicology is currently pending.
The McHenry County Coroner Office is continuing to work collaboratively with McHenry County Sheriff and Wonder Lake Fire Protection District.
