By a vote of 6-0, the Lakewood Village Board approved the purchase of a Tesla for its Police Department last night.

The first time around Chief Mike Roth was not successful.

He presented a cost-benefit analysis that apparently was persuasive.

When asked if there were other local departments with a Tesla, Chief Roth replied, “I’m not aware of any others in McHenry County.”
