From the Woodstock Police:

Arrest – Aggravated Battery

On December 9th, 2024, at approximately 11:16 a.m., Woodstock Police Officers were dispatched to 110 N. Eastwood Dr. in regard to a subject with a reported stab wound to the chest.

On arrival, Woodstock Officers met with the victim and initiated steps to render first aid when Woodstock Rescue/Fire District (WFRD) arrived and took over to render life-saving measures.

While the Officer was assessing the victim, the victim made statements that he had suffered a stab wound to the chest and verbalized the identity of who stabbed him.

WFRD then transported the victim to the hospital; the victim was then flown out for further medical treatment.

While the Officers were on-scene, they observed the person of interest and immediately detained him.

Due to the reported life-threatening nature of the injury, WPD Investigators requested the assistance of the McHenry County Major Investigations Assistance Team (MIAT).

When WPD Investigators met with MIAT leaders, it was decided to also request the assistance of the ISP Crime Scene Investigations Unit due to the large, outdoor size of the potential crime scene.

Due to the collaboration of the MIAT Investigators, the ISP CSI, and the WPD Investigations Division, this investigation was expedited.

On the afternoon of December 10th, 2024, and after conferring with the investigators of MIAT and the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office, Woodstock Police Department Investigators charged Arthur E. Johnson, 69, with two counts of Aggravated Battery.

Johnson continues to be detained at the McHenry County Adult Correctional Facility, and awaits his Rights Court hearing.

Arrested Person: Arthur E. Johnson (M/W/69) Woodstock , IL

Charges:

  • 1 count Aggravated Battery (Deadly Weapon) – Class 3 Felony
  • 1 count Aggravated Battery (Great Bodily Harm) – Class 3 Felony
