In the Federal corruption trail of Mike Madigan and Mike McClain, Jay Doherty, son of former McHenry Mayor and County Board member Don Doherty, was front and center.
Jay Doherty was secreted recorded by former ComEd executive Fidel Marquez, who flipped for a recommendation of probation.
Doherty put guys on his lobby firm’s payroll at the request of Madigan close friend & advisor Mike McClain to grease the wheels for legislation that hiked people’s electric bills.
As McClain put it: to Marquez: “You know, it’s the old-fashioned patronage system.”
