Algonquin Police Arrest Registered Sex Offender Following Investigation Involving Juveniles
Algonquin, IL – The Algonquin Police Department has arrested a registered sex offender following an investigation into allegations of inappropriate contact with multiple juveniles.
On June 21, 2025, the Algonquin Police Department received a report suggesting that an adult male had engaged in inappropriate contact with juvenile females.
Preliminary information also indicated the male was a registered sex offender.
Detectives launched an immediate and thorough investigation, which determined that three juvenile females, between the ages of 14 and 15, had been in regular contact with Anthony D. Morales, a registered sex offender residing in Round Lake Park, Illinois.

Following a comprehensive review of the evidence and consultation with the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office, the following charges were authorized:
- Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse (720 ILCS 5/11-1.60(d)) – 1 count
- Indecent Solicitation of a Child (720 ILCS 5/11-6(a)) – 2 counts
- Solicitation of a Sexual Act (720 ILCS 5/11-14.1(a)) – 2 counts
- Traveling to Meet a Child (720 ILCS 5/11-26(a)) – 1 count
- Grooming (720 ILCS 5/11-25(a)) – 1 count
- Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor (720 ILCS 5/12C-30(a)) – 1 count
On the morning of July 3, 2025, Algonquin Police investigators secured an arrest warrant for Morales and took him into custody at approximately 7:53 AM without incident.
He was processed and transported to the McHenry County Correctional Facility.
No further information will be released at this time due to the sensitive nature of the case and the involvement of minors.
