From the Marengo Fire & Rescue Districts:
Vehicle Rollover with Airlifted Patient
On Monday, June 2, 2025, at 2:44 p.m., the Marengo Fire & Rescue Districts responded to the intersection of County Line Road and Kishwaukee Valley Road for a reported crash.

While responding, the call was upgraded for possible entrapment after reports indicated one of the vehicles had rolled over.

Firefighters from both Marengo and Boone County arrived on the scene and found a two-vehicle crash with moderate to heavy damage.

Both vehicles had come to rest in the southeast field of the intersection, and one was overturned.
Both drivers, who were the sole occupants of their vehicles, had exited prior to the arrival of emergency personnel.
Due to the extent of injuries to the driver of the sedan, a medical helicopter was requested to the scene.

The helicopter landed nearby and airlifted the adult driver with serious injuries to a hospital in Rockford for further treatment.
The male driver of the minivan was evaluated on scene and declined any further medical care.
Crews remained on scene until 4:00 p.m. Kishwaukee Valley Road was closed in both directions for the duration of the incident.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office is conducting the investigation. Any questions regarding the cause of the crash, speed, seatbelt use, or other contributing factors should be directed to their office.
