The write-in ballots have been counted and posted, although election results will not be declared official until April 22nd,

Contest: City of Crystal Lake Council Member

  • Jake Justen’ s 117 votes did not put him in the winners’ circle.

Contest: City of Harvard Mayor

  • Paul Hereley’s 292 votes did not beat out the man on the ballot, Michael Kelly

Contest: City of Harvard Clerk

  • Kristina Crain’s 61 votes were not even ten percent of those of winner Scott Logan.

Contest: City of Woodstock For Council Member

  • Lou Ness earned 617 votes, not enough to top then 985 votes received by Gregory Hanson. In fact, the candidate on the ballot receiving the least number of votes, John Puzzo, received twenty-five more votes than Ness.

Contest: Marengo Township Supervisor

  • Khaled R. Elqunni received 50 write-in vote, while winner Heather Greenquist got over ten times as many

Contest: Marengo Township Trustee

  • Ray Cook 88
  • Martin Mohr 70

Because no one was on the ballot for the fourth Trustee slot, Ray Cook will be on the Township Board joining those who were on the ballot.

Contest: Richmond Township Trustee

  • Michael Lynn received 10 write-in votes. Whether that will be enough to gain the fourth seat on the Board is unclear to me.

Contest: Harvard Comm Unit School Dist #50 Member of the Board of Education

  • Melinda Shafer’s 68 write-in votes did not come close to the 759 received by fourth place winner Diana Bird.

Contest: Prairie Grove Comm Consol Dist #46 Member of the Board of Education

  • David Costa tallied 62 write-in votes winning the fourth seat on the school board.
  • Clare Barger – 46
