From the Coroner:
McHenry County Coroner, Dr. Michael Rein, announced that his office was contacted on March 2, 2025, by McHenry Northwestern to investigate an apparent shooting death that occurred in Lakemoor.
The fatality involved Ryan Piezonka, age 31, of Lake Zurich.
An autopsy will be performed on March 3, 2025.
The Coroner’s Office is continuing to work collaboratively with Lakemoor Police Department, McHenry Northwestern Hospital and MIAT during this investigation.
