From a press release from State Rep. Ann Williams:

Representative Ann Williams and environmental and consumer advocates will introduce the Clean and Reliable Grid Affordability Act (SB2473/HB3779) – legislation that addresses urgent challenges facing our electric grid while also prioritizing affordability for consumers and businesses.

The grid is struggling to keep pace with a surge in demand for energy, largely caused by data centers, and Regional Transmission Organizations PJM and MISO have been woefully inadequate in connecting clean energy projects to the grid that could power millions of homes with clean, affordable electricity.

The Clean and Reliable Grid Affordability (CRGA) Act offers a comprehensive suite of commonsense solutions that prioritize affordability, grid resiliency, and Illinois’ climate and clean energy goals
