From McHenry County:

Joining the McHenry County Board in the presentation of a check for $850,000 were Metra Chief Transportation Officer Vic Flores, and Ken Koehler, the county’s representative on the Metra Board.

US Rep. Bill Foster came to the last McHenry County Board meeting to present the county and Metra with $850,000 in federal funding toward the eventual relocation of the UP-Northwest Line rail yard from Crystal Lake to Woodstock.

A new railyard would streamline Metra’s operations and mean more trains connecting our county and serving our commuters.
