On Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 9:33 a.m., the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded to the area of Route 47 and Lucas Road for a reported two-vehicle crash with entrapment.

First-arriving police officers reported that both drivers were conscious, but one was trapped inside her vehicle.

Firefighters arrived and located two heavily damaged vehicles on Lucas Road, approximately a quarter mile east of Route 47.
A teenage driver was already out of their vehicle, while the second driver, an adult woman, remained trapped inside her vehicle.

Crews worked carefully to safely extricate the woman before transferring her to an awaiting ambulance.

She was transported to a local hospital with injuries believed to be serious but not life-threatening.
Paramedics also evaluated the teenage driver at the scene.
Following that evaluation, the teenager did not require additional medical attention or transport to a hospital.

Lucas Road was closed in both directions for the duration of the incident.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. Any questions regarding contributing factors, fault, citations, speed, or other investigative findings should be directed to their office.
